This tutorial is divided in three pages, each page explaining one of three menu panels that available in the Google Earth screen, this page is explaining how to use Side Bar Menu, other Menu Panel tutorial can be accessed by clicking in the links below:

Side Bar Menu Panel Tutorial

The Side Bar Menu Panel located on the left side screen, divided in three parts such as Search panel, Places Panel and Layers Panel, each panel has different functions. Follow the explanation below:

Search Panel
This is for searching the location, there are three tab menus in this panel: Fly To, Find Businesses and Directions.

• "Fly To" Tab Menu

  Look at the picture in the right, in this panel you can searching a place by typing the name of place on the box and the map screen will be moving to your desired location. You can typing it with non specific name such as "Disneyland, new York, or Hollywood," but for more specific result you can typing the address street of the location such as "1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043" or the latitude and longitude coordinate number such as "37 25' 19.1"N, 122 05' 06"W." If you typing "disneyland" in the search box and clicking the magnifier button, you will see the search result in the list box below, you can choose one of them (A, B, C, ...) that most appropriate with your need, but usually the most popular place will be displayed on the map screen.

• "Find Businesses" Tab Menu
  Searching specific type of places (e.g. schools, hotels, computer shops, etc) in specific area or city (e.g. New York, Texas, etc), if you type "hotels" and "New York," you will see all hotels name in New York, complete with the addresses.

• "Directions" Tab Menu
  Searching the path or road route from one place to other place, if you type "New York, NY" and "Bronx, NY," you will see the road route direction from New York to Bronx, complete with the road names and directions that indicated with cars icon.

Places Panel
The list of your saved Places is stored here, if you double click on the name on the list, you will flying to the map of the location, tutorial how to save a places is explained in other page.

Layers Panels
The list of map legends that can be enable or disable, if you have slow internet access you may have to wait a few minutes before the option displayed on the map.
